HOT BUTTON ISSUES (Topical Thursdays)
The Hot Button Issues Committee hosts regularly scheduled community gatherings to delve into current topics of special interest to the League and the community at large, including advocacy issues that the League supports.
The Hot Button Issues Committee, with input from the Board and membership, identifies the topics, confirms a host location, schedules speakers or panel participants, and moderates each session.
In addition, the Hot Button Issues Committee assists with the General Membership Meetings, including identifying speakers and topics and securing locations.
Presentations are held at various local sites, occurring from September through May. Check the TLC-LWV website for most current schedule and topics. Hot Button Issues events and General Membership Meetings are open to the public.
From September thru April (excluding December) HOT BUTTON ISSUES EVENTS are scheduled each month. The topics are pertinent to current events and many times they represent some aspect of the Advocacy Positions that the League has adopted. HOT BUTTON ISSUES were former known as TOPICAL THURSDAYS, but a name change allowed for better scheduling of events.
Below are the video presentations which have been recorded.
