About this event

The League of Women Voters of Toledo Lucas County is organizing a Honk & Wave Campaign to activate voters in OUR community. The Honk & Wave Campaign will target areas with the lowest voter turnout. Data from the Board of Elections showed that precincts in 43604, 43605, and 43608 zip codes have historically low turn out (<30%) compared to county wide turn out (45%). These are areas around poll locations at Wait High School, Sherman Elementary School, Oakdale Elementary School, and The Toledo Board of Education on Summit Street.

The Honk & Wave Campaign will take place at 12 high traffic intersections near the low turn out poll locations. We are seeking 2-4 members to sign up per intersection to cover both sides of each intersection. We strongly encourage you to bring friends and family to your Honk & Wave Campaign shift

The Honk & Wave Campaign dates were selected for the three Saturdays before the November 5th election between 10am-4pm.
  • Saturday, October 19th @10am, 12pm, 2pm
  • Saturday, October 26th @10am, 12pm, 2pm
  • Saturday, November 5th @10am, 12pm, 2pm
